Our Sophomore year of 1956-57 found these students missing: Isham Allen, Anita Calvin, Lois Collins, Mary Lee Lampe, Luella Lit inger, Shirley Moody, Edgar Schebler, and Randall Young. During our Sophomore year the following friends were gained: Larry Albers, Marcia Amberger, Mary Baker, Paul Grossman, and Harold Peters. Our class officers for 1956-57 were: President, Frank Walker; Vice-President, Jean Ziegler; Secretary, Steve Fehlinger; Treasurer, Marsha Terrell. is year Kathy Burch joined our Junior Class. The class officers elected were: President, Steve Fehlinger, Vice-President, Arlen Stirn; S ecretary, Jean Fields; Treasurer, Judy Hegwood. In the Fall of 1957, we presented our Junior play, Keep Moving, an event we and our audience shall never forget. In our Junior year we were proud of Thelma Lamping as she journeyed to Washington at the expense of the Odd Fellows by winning their essay contest. Her Senior accomplishments included winning the Ripley County D, A,R, Award. The girls elected as our Junior attendants for Football Homecoming were Judy Hegwood and Jean Ziegler. : On the sixteenth day of May, 1958, everyone was in aromantic mood as they gazed into the gym, surrounded by “Moonlight and Roses. i Those chosen to lead us during this final eventful year were: Steve Fehlinger, President; n Stirn, Vice-President; Donna Mollaun, Secretary; Mac Miller, Treasurer. In our Senior year we were all sorry to lose Kathy Burch, Coleen Collins, Tom Decker, Martha Hannebaum, and Alvin Ison. One new classmate, Joyce Steinkamp, joined us as we began our last days at BL HS, The Senior class chose Jean Ziegler to represent Batesville in the Versailles Pumpkin Show. Judy Hegwood and Jerilyn Schwier served as Senior attendants to Jean Fields, our Football Homecoming Queen. With the coming of Spring, the Seniors again undertook a difficult task, this time pre senting, Ah Men, a delightful comedy illustrating when and how women shall rule the world in the future. The month of May brought the Junior-Senior Prom, Baccalaureate, Senior Day, and finally Graduation and the disbanding of the Class of ‘59. ee A THELMA ROW ONE: Bob Ziegler, Jim Glaub, Paulette Asche, Eunice Collins, Judy Schroeder, Mitzi Schath, Marlene Kirschbaum, Wilfred Scheele, Paul Werner. The basic objective of Diversified Cooperative Edu- cation is to prepare high school youth for useful employ- ment in occupations of their choice. Training is made possible by cooperation between local schools and local business and industrial establishments. Students acquire practical work experience in their chosen occupation by working each afternoon; each morning the school provides individual instruction in the technical aspects of each student's job in specially scheduled classes conducted by a teacher coordinator. e: | ( John Gb = BGHESVI le Produgh Almost every year B.H.S. adds or enlarges a new department.
