Gone for- ever will be the routine of school life, the fun we had, and the friends we made. It is the hope of the 1957 Bull- dog Staff that, as you glance through this book in the years to come, you will recapture those moments--and the echoes will begin again. CURRIN SITTERDING INSURANCE AGENCY 41 CLASS HISTORY Looking back on our four-year sojourn in B.H.S., we recall as Freshmen that we held our first meeting in Sep- tember, 1953 and chose the following officers: President, Don Lightner; Vice President, John Hegwood; Secretary, Sue Timmerman; Treasurer, Bernie Stock. Miss Wonning and Mr. McConnell were our sponsors this year. Our sophomore year of 1954-56 found these students gone: Raymond Schebler, Irene Schath, Dennis Dirkhising, Paul Hartman, and Robert Lecher. Although we regretted losing them, new friends were found in Nomi Fields, Mary Werner, Marceda Wallpe, Audrey Wallpe, Jean Schene, Alice Effinger, and Don Voegele. Our class officers for 1955 were: President, Don Lightner; Vice President, Richard Moeller; Secretary Treasurer, John Hegwood. Sponsors were Mr. Bigham and Miss Prentice. This was the year we chose Sherry Yorn and Jean Saunders as our football attendants for Homecoming. In September, 1955, all of us returned except Nancy Todd, Don Ledbetter, Kathy Decker, Leo Muckerheide, Edwin Kirschner, and Joyce Schutte. This year Ray Grassman, James Kruthaupt, and Jim Barry joined one of the best classes B.H.S. has ever produced. The class officers elected were: President, , Jean Saunders; Vice President, Audrey Wallpe; Secretary, Ruth Moeller; Treasurer, Dick Fichtner. Doubtless, we all remember Dec. 7, 1955 as the night we presented our Junior play, Clementine. The girls elected as our Junior attendants for Foot- ball Homecoming were Dolores Ziegler and Ruth Moeller. On May 18, 1956, the Juniors and Seniors went to visit Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs , our unforget- able Junior-Senior Prom. In our Senior year, we were all sorry to lose Patti Mc Daniel, John Dietz, Alice Effinger, and Eddie Lehman. Jean Saunders and Audrey served as Senior attendants to Ruth Moeller, our Football Homecoming Queen.(Be sure to see her picture on page 21) The coming of Spring saw the successful presentation of our Senior play, Rest Assured. All too soon, it was May. And Graduation brought to an end four of the happiest years of our lives. CALENDAR 1956-57 September 4, First day of school. Meeting of new and old friends. 7.
