CLASS HISTORY In the year of 1949 we gathered as fresh- menin the Hall of Fame B.H.S. to register. We were 18 short of a hundred. Our first class meeting was held in the gym, where we be- came familiar with our sponsors and elected our officers: President, Jerry Carel; Vice Pre- sident, Ace Moorman; Secretary, Mary Lou Huneke; Treasurer, Nancy Broerman. The year was started by a party following an initiation conducted by the seniors. The entertainment consisted of a square dance and refreshments. Under the supervision of Miss Wonningand Mrs. Anderson our first class party was held in the gym. There we played games, dancedand were servedice-co ld pop and ice cream for refresh- ments. Another year slipped by in the Hall of Fame and found us sophomores. There were now 66 of us. Gone from our group were: Jerry Carel, Raymond Frye, Mike Glaub, Wilfred Gram- man, Blaine Herd, Paul Harping, Catherine Holtel, Loretta Hunefeld, Sally Kester, Sabra McCullough, Leo Merkel, Margie Meyer Helen Moorman, Ray Obermeyer, Henry Riley, Arthur Simmermeyer, Mary Frances Wilson, Clara Wissel, and Paul Wissel. To fill in two of the vacancies we added Ronald Lloyd from Cincinnati and Rose Mary Dovis from Rich- mond. Our officers were: President, Connie Schulte; Vice President, Nancy Broerman; Secretary, Bill Fisher; Treasurer, Arnie Wehr. The highlight of our year was the Biology Trip to Chicago, chaperoned by Mr. Hamblin and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. There we spent three never-to-be-forgotten days of educational sight-seeing and enjoyment. We started our junior year with five more classmates missing: Clarence Collins, Karla Kealen, Nancy Riley, Connie Schulte, and Paul White. Frances Kitchen from Brookville and Maurice Schoettelkotte from St. Peters joinedour group. We elected ournew officers: President, Ace Moorman; Vice President, Bill Fisher; Secretary, Nancy Broerman; and Trea- surer, Pete Wintz. Our sponsors were Mr. Gehring and Miss Davis. Our junior play,
