CECIL FAIRFIELD LAVELL, A.M. Born at Kingston, Ontario, Canada, November 28, 1872, graduated at Queen's University, 1894, studied at Toronto and Cornell, 1894-95: Fellow at Queens, 1895-96, studied at Ontario Normal College, 1896-97, History Master St. Thomas Collegiate Institute, Ontario, 1897-99, staff lecturer for American Society for the Extension of University Teaching, 1899-1905, studied at Columbia University, 1903-05, professor of History and Economics at Bates, 1905. BLANCHE W. ROBERTS. Born at Lewiston, Me., January 2, 1879, graduated at Lewiston High School, 1895, student at Bates, 1895-97, assistant at Kittery High School, 1898-99, attended Summer School of Library Economy, Amherst, Mass., 1904, assistant librarian at Bates since 1903. GROSVENOR M. ROBINSON. Born at Boston, Mass., December 13, 1867, graduated at Boston English High School, 1886, studied at School of Expression, teacher's course, 1890, artistic course, 1891, teacher School of Expression, 1889-92, Union Baptist Seminary, 1892-94, teacher School of Expres- sion, Newton Theological Seminary, Yale Divinity School, Bates Col- lege, 1894-97, instructor in Elocution since 1898. C. W. A. VEDITZ, LL.B., P.H.D. Born at Philadelphia November 18, 1872, educated in the public schools of Philadelphia, graduated from the Manual Training High School in 1889, entered the Wharton School of the University of Penn- sylvania, and graduated from that institution in 1891, receiving the degree of Ph.B., left immediately for Europe, where he studied for nearly ten years. Of this period, over three years were spent in Ger- many, at the Universities of Halle, Berlin, Leipzig and Vienna, from Halle University he received in the early part of 1895 the degree of Ph.D., with the honorable mention of magna cum laude. publishing as his thesis a volume on Thuenen's Theory of Value. From the latter part of 1895 until January, 1901, he studied in France and Italy, princi- pally at the following institutions 1 the College of France, the Sorbonne, the School of Anthropology, the Law School of Paris, the School of Political Sciences, and the College of Social Sciences. During this time he completed the course in the Law School leading to the degree of
