Class Prophecy lcon't. I After I left Bob, I drove down through New Mexico and out in the desert, miles from nowhere, I ran out of gas. I got out and was trying to flag down a car, when I saw a man coming toward me riding a horse and leading a burro. He came over to see what was the matter. As he came nearer, I thought he looked familiar and much to my amazement, it was Tom Curray. Tom told me he was going into town, which was about ten miles away, to get some supplies, as he was a prospector and was going out to see if he could find some more gold. It seems as though three gold mines aren't enough for him. Tom took me into town on his burro. I got some gas and finally got started on my way again. I stopped in the next town to get some more gas. Ps I was about to leave a big Cadillac convertible pulled up, and out stepped the one and only, Jim McNieI. I went over and started talking to him. Jim told me that he now owns a 2000 acre cattle ranch. He said that he married but isn't a father, yet. I stayed overnight with Jim and started out the next morning. The next state I went to was Ixbvada. I was driving along, when I came to Reno. I saw a big sign that read, Whit's PIace . I went in and it was a big night club. I saw a tall, slender fellow, with girls all around him. I walked over closer and saw it was my old buddy, John Whitmore. I finally got a chance to talk to John. He told me that he owned the place and was doing right well, as I could seel I visited with John for awhile and then headed back for Iowa. I got back to Iowa and headed for Batavia. On the way to Batavia, a big, black Lincoln convertible passed me and when I got to Batavia there was the Lincoln and also my old class- mate, Harley McCleary. I pulled up beside him and stopped. I talked with Harley for awhile. Harley told me that he is now president of the Dexter Washing Machine Company in Fairfield. He said that he is married and is living in Fairfield. I went up to the north end of Batavia and saw a large grocery store and gas station com- bined. I went in md there was Dwight Cochran. Dwight said he now owned it, and that he is married and has three children. I, Pug Davis, having fulfilled my promise to my classmates of l954, bade good -bye to Iowa and went back to my wife and sixteen kids, down on my cattle ranch in Argentina, South America. I3

Class Prophecy It was now I964, ten long years had passed since the Senior Class of I954 strolled out of the doors of good old B.H.S. As we split up, I agreed to visit all of my old classmates in ten years so the time had come to start. The first place I headed for was good ole' Batavia, where I went into the restaurant, and the first person I saw was Nancy Walker. Nancy told me that she was now married to Paul Smith and that they had two boys and a girl. Nancy told me that Joanne Webb was living on a farm near Libertyville, so the next stop was Libertyville. I went out and saw Joanne, who was now married to Hughie Glotfelty. The had six little boys, and Joanne said She Spent m0St Of her time baking cookies and patching overalls. The next person on the list was Katy Mairet. I found her in New York, where she was a law- yer. She was arguing a case, with her future husband on the bench, as one of the iury. After court was over and the case had been won, I talked with Katy for awhile. She told me that Jo- anne Abernathy was in Hollywood, so my next stop was Hollywood. I arrived in Hollywood about 5:00 P.M., and after I rested up, I decided to go roller skating. I was informed that there was a nice rink on the outskirts of town, so I went out there and about the first person I saw was Joanne Abernathy. Joanne told me that she and her husband owned the rink. After visiting with Joanne for awhile, I started on. The next person on my list was Janice Major, whom I found in Seattle, Washington. Janice fold me that she is now running a dancing school. She said that she is married but doesn't have any children, as of yet. Janice told me that Barbara Six was in Los Angeles. My next stop was Los Angeles. I went to the downtown business district, where l saw a big sign which read, For a Change in Looks, See Barb. Inquire Within . I wondered what it meant so I decided to inquire within. I went in and asked for Barb. I found Barb in her large office. Barb turned out to be none other that Barbara Six. When I asked her about the sign out in front, she told me that she was now running a beauty salon. Barb said she was still single, but I noticed a large diamond on her left hand, so I don't imagine she'II be single long. As I was traveling back toward Iowa, I stopped in Colorado at a clude ranch where I found Bob Briggs. He told me that he owned the ranch. Bob also told me that he was married to the former Virginia Blough, and they have three children. I2

Senior Class Will We, the Senior Class of Batavia High School, in the year of one thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, being of sound mind and body, do hereby make this our last will and testament. I, Dwight Cochran, do hereby will my position on the basketball team to Billy Campbell and my typewriter to Leron Leazer. I, Jim McNiel, will my 38-Ford to Mr. Woods for a future school bus and pass on my desk with Skim's Little Hot Rod to the next person who sits there. I, Pug Davis, will my bowlegs to Leron Leazer, and my ability to go to sleep in school to Jerry Fleming. And my 40-FORD TO ALL THE POOR CHEVROLET guys. I, Joanne Abernathy, will my iob as cheerleader to Joan Cook and my gum popping to Betty Wood. I, John Whitmore, will my ability to study and like the teachers to Joe Ornduff, and my am- bition to PLAY HOO KY, fbut I hope you are lucky enough to get by with itl. I will my ability to type, if any, to Pud Leazer. I, Harley McCleary, will my ability to sleep between classes and gaze out the window to Billy Campbell, and I also will my ability to get along with Mrs. Abplanalp to .Ierry Fleming. I, Katherine Mairet, will my ability to cut a stencil to Marlys Sommer, and my seat by the window to Melvin Whitmore. I, Janice Major, do hereby will my ability to disagree with anybody to .loan Cook, and my ability to play BASKETBALL to anybody who can use it. I, Tom Curray, will my old '40 FORD to Larry Peebler and my typing ability to Kay Hill. I, Nancy Walker, will my iob as the editor ofthe annual to Melvin Miller, and my ability to play basketball to Dixie Swartz. I, Bob Briggs, will my ability to tear up 3 to 4 desks a year to Larry Peebler, and my liking of sports to Duane Goff. l, Barbara Six, will my height to Betty Wood and my gum popping to Patty Humble. To the Freshmen, we will our ability to get nothing accomplished in our class meetings. To the Sophomores, we leave our ability to get along with the teachers.
