HISTORY Mu Sigma Societies were organized in 1934 by the Mu Sigma Rho, Honorary Scholastic Fraternity of Louisiana State University. The Alpha Phi Chapter was mstalled in Bastrop High School in May, 1941. Thus far, 216 students have been installed as Mu Sigma members in Bastrop High School. Since Mrs. Moore took over the leadership of the Mu Sigma in 1946, she has much to her credit. She was the instigator of the one one hundred dollar Mu Sig- ma scholarship, candy sales at ball games and annual Mardi Gras Ball. MRS. MILDRED MOORE Sponsor fagffi. vw ACCOMPLISHED THIS YEAR This year Mu Sigma spon- sored the first annual Mardi Gras Ball to be held in Bastrop High School. They sponsored American Educa- tion Week. Another high- light in a Mu Sigma mem- ber,s year is the annual initi- ation and banquet.
