E A champion is one who uses his strength physically and mentally to defend a cause In this sense a real championship team was developed this year under the direction of hrs Mildred Nelson Moore Starting the season with an apparently losing team the girls through their repeated efforts steady practice and expert coach ing rounded off the year with an outstanding team After winning their way to the finals at the Northeast Louis iana District Rally in Ruston by a victory of 34 24 these girls came back the next night and won the district championship de feating the defending champions by a score of 31 30 This team entered the state championship play off, and al though they did not win first place the privilege and honor of having Aline Warner a guard placed on the first All-State team and Inez Edmonson another guard on the second All-State team gave the team great distinction. We are proud of these girls and of the lovely trophy the team added to our collection. The efforts of these girls gave to B. H. S. another CHAMP.
