Pep Rallies Promofe Spirif and lnvolvemenf This year many hours of preparation by our drill team, pep squad, and band made our pep rallies enjoyable by all and a big boost to our athletes. The homecoming rally highlighted the season with a large crowd bringing back the alumni and kicking off the homecoming festivities, Foofball Games Provide Excifemenf It was late September and there was great excitement in the air. Yes, a new school year had started which meant the football season was about to begin. The students looked for- ward to the games because it meant seeing old friends and meeting new ones. It also meant the thrill of fierce competition on the field, the artistic performance at half-time, and the rooting of our team to victory. All in all it brought the whole school and community together in a common goal and that is what the games are all about at Bassett. 1 l l A .gel SQ 2. 1 1 x , , J Wwva-'fx A ' I Anhui, - pref . ,N . , -2' - A , .1 , ,,, A 1 aww ' . --f-my i -Q : 1 ' Oosfumes And Fun Prevail During Spirif Week Traditionally, Spirit Week at Bassett is a week of fun and good times and this year was no exception, During both lunches the stu- dent body gathered to watch and participate in 3 legged races, balloon and egg tosses, pie eating contests, etc. Moreover, throughout the week students and faculty dressed accord- ing to the theme of the clay. Some dressed in 50,5 garb while others were seen as monsters, cartoon characters, cowboys, and finally on Friday our school colors - black and gold - prevailed. The festivities were set off with a football game against Mountview where Bassett was defeated in a hard fought game. During halftime there was a parade of floats sponsored by the ASB, the introduction of the 5 homecoming finalists, and the raf- fling of 11 motorcycle, a TV, and 3100.00 by the Booster Club. The homecoming dance followed immediately after the game where all were invited to enjoy the music of PAX and to witness the crowning of Rosie Ulloa as 1977 homecoming queen by last year's queen Silvia Luna. Congratulations are in order to queen Rosie Ulloa, Ist ninners-up Christine Balderama and Gloria Serna, 2nd runner-up Stephanie Murphy and 5rd runner-up Cindy Martinez. 0.H. Hosfs Ghosfs During the last week of October the OH Department hosted its fourth annual haunted house. This fearful escapacle took place in the OH hall during both lunches, The price to enter was just a quarter for a bewitching walk through ghosts, goblins, and other scary crea- tures. The profits of their escapade went to the Forum to help pay the costs of the paper. . sv 41 'M:i4 ?'WW' I u Af , .Ai ..
