At Basic, Rallyisticl We 're 70 Superstar Rally lt was a cold and windy Wednesday night. The crowd, stilled by the cold, waited for the start of the race. Bang! At the sound of the gun the racers were off pedaling furiously toward the second racer of each relay team. Uh, pedaling?! could this be a tricycle race??? Almost as traditional as Christmas, the Superstar Rally drove the classes into a frenzy! Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshman, Alurnni, and Faculty each comprised one of the six teams which frantically participated in imagina- tive events. These included: late for work, beauty and the beast, race, boardwalk, pie-in-the-eye, and wheelbarrow race. Hilarity abounded with all the comical fumbling. Most noticable were the 'fbehind the wheel mistakes. Raul Elizondo brought new meaning to the word forward , and Darron Carson didn't get far with his brakes on. The tricycle race had one special happening. Raymond Corky Roundy lost a wheel on the stretch which allowed the Seniors a second chance to win when given another try against the clock. The winner . . , was the Seniors. The alumni bounced back, though, showing their ability by winning the rally overall. Another tradition during Homecoming Week is painting the B. Every year the Seniors are excused to make the off-road trek. This year the sight of 4- wheel drive trucks and bajas zooming into the desert wilderness was exilarat- ing, especially as people in truckbeds almost bounced out all over. As the HB was doused with water, so was everyone else who got in the way. Overall, the B was a brilliant success.

Behind her the class courts brushed their hair and applied fresh shine to their lips A sweep of the hand set the 84 85 Homecoming parade in motion Hundreds of students and alumni lined up on Water Street to watch the annual procession which began the weekend activities The floats were all beautifully constructed carrying out the theme Reaching for the Blue and Silver The Junior float won the compe tition though As the parade wound its way down the street it set the pace for the night s football game With a final score of 74 0 against the Las Vegas Wildcats The win proved to be the first in many years for the Homecoming game All in all Friday s events were successful ev ,naw 5 l- ggsgg ,Q 1, F 9 Kihei Q as , lv xii?
