MESSAGE John A Dooley Principal To the Class of 1964: The day after graduation you will find that-except for your parents-you will be alone in a changing world. There will be no teachers, required subjects, or attendance regulations to direct your life. You may still seek aid from the school, but you will find that the tone of that aid is somehow different. You might go on to col- lege or to work, but in either case that difference will still be there. You will be absolutely responsible for the direction of your own life. It is my hope that we have instilled in each of you some moral, ethical and practical guidelines which will make you the master of your own lifeg then, you will have your silver memories of Basic High. F GRE GRD As members of the student body, we have shared the tedious hours of study, the anxiety that arises before an exam, the scramble to get a sandwich in the crowded lunch room and still have time to eat it. We have shared the laughter in the halls, the happiness that comes from winning a game, and the thrill of seeing the various queens being crowned. As seniors, we have shared the sadness of knowing that the Senior Ball is drawing our high school years to a close, the anticipation of bac- calaureate, and finally, our last big night as high school students, graduation. All of these events will become precious memories as the years pass, memories that each of us sometime in life will pause for an instant to ponder. To preserve these memories the El Lobo has been prepared. We have compiled between the covers of this book the main events of that wonderful year 1963-64-g we have made this your book of Silver Memories? To each member of the Class of 1964, congratulations. You have overcome many problems to achieve one of the first major goals in your young adult life. The goals which you have set for yourself will determine your success in life. Choose those goals carefully, thinking not only of the welfare of yourself and your future family, but also of your community and your nation. Then work to your capacity to attain those goals.
