Play Tlw Odtk Against You “The Odds are Against You,” a comedy by John Vornholt, is about the Mondale family. As if Gerald Mondale doesn’t have enough problems raising his daughters, the grandmothers don’t think they have enough pri- vacy and want to build a $10,000 addition on the house. They’ll go to any length to raise the money, including buying a race-horse, “on time”, from a notorious gangster. Behind Gerald’s back, they get Cathi and Susan and Uncle Alfred to help. A week later, two of Big Louie’s henchman, Zeke and Little Claude, arrive to collect the $20,000. Since the grandmothers have no money, the debt falls to Gerald; he has one week to pay up. All the desperate thinking and feeble attempts fail to come up with the $20,000 or a solution. When the gangsters return, luck intervenes and the police show up just in time. This comedy filled play was directed by Mr. Chris Anderson.
