SZUMWZ CEA DSKSHJP Keeping Zradition Going Those who lead set precedents and carry out traditions long held by our school. Some of those at the top of the leadership roles are members of Stu- dent Council. Serving as president of the student body this year was Cindy Enneking. She is seen right decorating the new Christmas tree that was pur- chased by Student Council this year. Vice President was Laurie Sedlock, Secretary was Bill Foley, and Treasur- er was Joe Scherer. In adition to the Christmas tree. Student Council purchased a beautiful oak podium and speaker system to be used at school events. The council and their sponsor, Kandy Johnson, kept very busy plan- ning and decorating for traditional dances such as Homecoming and Courtwarming. In addition to traditional events, the council served as a hospitality com- mittee for several of the school's social events such as open house and various parents' meetings.

A Vcar Of Z And Changing Attitudes szudswz cm Thirteen years of our life is spent gaining an education. Much happens along the way. Friendships are made that will last a life- time. Those moments that happen through those years that seem like only yesterday, become the good ole' days in the years to come. The student life at Basehor High School is an active one. Beyond the studies and homework we find traditional events such as Homecoming, Courtwarming and Prom. Sports play an important role in our lives and often school pride is based in those activities. Volleyball, football, cross coun- try, basketball, wrestling, and track teams were joined by a very successful golf team in 1986. Many students were active paptici- pants as members of the teams or as specta- tors. Outside issues touched our lives in 1986 when the hazards of drunk driving were addressed by the school and community. The student life at BHS is an active one, indeed, full of memories that will become the good ole' days !
