Jana Kuhn (Lt) is instructor for Typing. Advanced Typing, and Shorthand. She is Annual Spon- sor and enjoys dancing, reading, sewing and water skiing. I would like to see the students become more mature and responsible for the property on school grounds. We desperately need to up-date equipment and facilities: but until the students can demon- strate that they can take care of them, the school administration will not budget for them.” Stephen Ludwig (Up Lt) teaches English I, English II. and is coach for the Freshman boys’ basketball team. He enjoys snow skiing and breeding St. Bernard dogs. Robert Cope teaches Spanish I, and II. along with French I and II. This is the first year for the French II class. Ron Matthews (above) is in his second year of direct- ing band for the high school as well as the middle school. He coaches ensembles and solos for competi- tion. Mr. Matthews enjoys tennis, golf, reading, and listening to records. There seems to be better com- munication between teachers and students. I feel there is a better atmosphere for learning. I'm not sure what changes have contributed to this better atmos- phere. though.” Charles Self (Up Rt) is teacher coordinator of CCVEP. Mr. Self is also the Sponsor of DECA. He enjoys golf, and showing German Shepherd dogs. I would like to see a change in the graduation require- ments. that is Seniors will pass 5 out of 7 subjects or 3 out of 4 for CCVEP students. It is my feeling that this would correct disciplinary problems for the seniors. We need to have students' pride in the school. The school is as good as the students make it.” Jack Schreiner (Lower Rt) is another new face at BUS. He teaches Citizenship. Health, and Psychology. He is Coach for the girls’ basketball teams. Mr. Schreiner taught school for four years before coming to Basehor. “I need to make more money.” 12
