New Administration- Goals and Ideas When asked about his goals and ideas for U.S.D. 458. Dr. Stansberry had the following comments: 1) work towards a one district concept; 2) improve facilities — “We are waiting for an external evaluation and once it is received we will analyze the study: and we plan to hold public meetings to gather opinions.”: 3) curriculum — “We hope to complete a curriculum program for the district next year.”; 4) maintenance of facilities and improving the lighting, drop ceilings, painting and improve the parking area. “We need to improve the quality of the building. The ceiling in the foyer and art room have already been lowered. The hallways need fluorescent lights installed to make them brighter. Then classrooms. Business and Government first, need new fur- niture. The parking areas need to be drastically improved. They are both inadequate and of poor quality. The buildings are very crowded and the population growth does not stop suddenly. Books and equipment need to be on a rotation plan — old out, new in. The counselor also needs more room. The office he has now is very much inadequate.” 6
