Defioyfei Uflvfc fa Some problems with construction delayed the move in date until January 5, 1976. The high school has shared shop facilities , music, and library .ocated in the addition. The central office is located just off the com- mons area in the new building. The building is carpeted, air condi- tioned and features the open concept in the library. Moveable partitions set off the classrooms. The music room is almost completely sound proofed and practice and storage space -built in as well as an office for the Director. A big improvement from the stage. The building cost for Linwood, Grade School addition and the Middle School additions is $1,139,000. It houses 207 junior high students as well as serving students in the High School. Named At halftime of Friday, November 7, Basehor-Piper football game, the football field was officially dedicated and named the Ward L. Kiester, Sr. Stadium. The Breeze staff wrote and pro- duced the paper to keep the stu- dent body informed of the hap- penings around the school. Con- nie Woodlinger former BHS grad- uate and Breeze editor, gave as a gift, a 35mm Nikkomat camera and two mimeoscopes, to be used in putting out a better paper. This was one of the factors in having 16 issues of the paper published. More pictures were used in the editions thanks to Advertisers and the new camera. Other changes were a new nameplate designed by Mark Smith and extensive use of elec- tronic stencils. The news produc- tion staff types the articles and justifies them on stencils. The final step is to duplicate several hundred copies of each page and assemble the pages to make a complete issue. It's lots of work and requires time outside of class, even though both are credit classes. Creating school spirit for athletic events is the purpose of this group of hard-working girls, and create it they did! Through sign paintings, sometimes with slogans, plastered on foyer walls, they announced the weekly games and tried to get the student body to support the Big Green. They organized and put on pep rallies, delivered good luck symbols to the jocks on game days, and attended the meets, matches, and games to cheer their Cats on to victory. The cheerleaders sponsored Spirit Week which included dressing up in all kinds of wild outfits such as, socks and hats, sweatsuits, and 50's day. It really helped build school spirit.
