Although it was the first year for girls basketball at Basehor, their final season record stood at 5 wins and 2 losses with third place in the Jayhawk League and second place in the Regionals. Girls’ Sports The volleyball and track teams were, both, very successful this year. In volleyball, Basehor placed third in the league and third in the Spring Hill Tour- nament. In track, Basehor placed high in all meets, set many new records, and sent three members, Cin- dy Harvey, Rhoda Stoner, and Jenny Fore to the State meet in Wichita. GIRLS TRACK TEAM. Above the finished product. Helping Miss Stone decorate the gym for the dance were Loretta Porter, Cathy Johnson, and Sandy Dunning. The Sophomore class took honors by winning the Spirit Jug. Re- presenting the Senior class as King and Queen was Mike Lunceford and Teresa Millsap. Although the Frosh gave the Seniors close competition, the winning booth was Kelly's Stringy Dingy. Other booths included the Freshman jail, a Sophomore marriage chapel, and a Junior Goodies Walk.
