QM Hfjtt yuf In the fall of 59 , twenty-seven Freshmen composing the class of 63 stormed into the Basehor High School. We banded together and chose as our leaders David Dye, President; Skip Walden, Vice-President; Shirley Swope, Secretary-Treasurer; and Barbara Wiley Student Council Representative. The Sophomores quickly took revenge on us when initiation day rolled around because of what had happened to them when they were Freshmen. We proved to be a successful class when Barbara Wiley was chosen Queen of the Music Carnival. During the year we lost Pat Clem, Darrel White, and Larry Pritty. As another year rolled around, we began school with 25 members in our class. Our class officers were Skip Walden, President; Bill Lee, Vice-President; Bill Zacharias, Secretary- Treasurer; and Dean Oroke, Student Council Representative. When initiation day came, we took revenge on the Freshmen for what the Sophomores had done to us. Bill Lee was chosen Carnival King; and thus we again proved ourselves to be successful. As another school year approached the class of 63 , a brighter side had come into sight. Now we were upperclassmen, and the busy life began. Our heroic leaders were President, Loretta Downing; Vice-President, Dean Oroke; Pat Kemler, Secretary-Treasurer; and Skip Walden, Student Council Representative. The year brought many different activities. During the football season we were responsible for the concession stands. The month of May soon appeared and preparations were started for the Prom. We chose as our theme The Roaring Twenties. The prom proved a success. Skip Walden represented our class as Carni- val King. AT LAST SENIORS! We were then a class of 21 members. Our officers were chosen as follows: Bill Zacharias, President; Bill Lee, Vice-President; Karen Smith, Secretary- Treasurer; and Joe Daniels, Student Council Representative. The class again hit the jackpot at the Music Carnival. Dean Oroke and Karen Smith were chosen King and Queen of the Carnival. There are several traditional events that only seniors may participate in. The day the class went to Kansas City to have their senior pictures taken was one of those special events. The Senior Sneak Day was a day filled with excitement and it was a first for many of the class members to see a mongoose. Next were Baccalaureate, Class Night and finally Commencement. These are happy memories for any graduated senior.
