SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS MR. W. W. READ No graduating class in history has faced more chal- lenges than does the class of '72, nor has any group of young people been better prepared to face these chal- lenges and to change the world in which they live. In the case of the Bartow Senior High Class of '72, I have few fears. In your years here, you have shown your worth and I am confident you will live up to the promise you have shown. You all have exciting years ahead of you, years of change, years of difficulty, years of success. Some of the changes you will make yourselves; the difficulties you will overcome; and the successes you will earn through in- dustry, through character, and through determination. My best wishes go with all of you. I am proud to have had you as members of our school system. W. W. Read Superintendent of Schools Mr. W. W. Read SOUTHWEST AREA SUPERINTENDENT MR. DAVID WILSON Congratulations on the attainment of one of the very important goals in your life. You are to be commended for your willingness to make certain sacrifices in order to fin- ish your high school education. You must remember, how- ever, that this is only the beginning; you will be required to make many more sacrifices if you are to attain the ma- jor goals which you have set for yourselves. I wish I could give you a formula for instant” success in life. I cannot. But I can tell you that there is no substitute for honest, hard work. The word work” may have a connotation of dirt and sweat, but there is nothing wrong with that. Work is the one ingredient that can overcome a differ- ence in ability. Work is the force that can keep you strong physically. Work is a tranquilizer that can aid in your mental health. Willingness to work, physically or men- tally, goes a long way to make you economically secure. Yes, work can be your key to happiness. I wish for each of you much success and happiness. May God bless you in your work. Mr. David Wilson David E. Wilson 70 Southwest Area Superintendent (T.
