Any one of these, and many others. could serve well for our theme. When one weighs and compares the influence each has on the community and school, he finds our phosphate industry far ahead, giving the world some sixty-nine per cent of this product. Because of this importance, we have endeavored to tie together in the following sections of the ECHO analogous steps in mining and education as we have known it in our years in school. 744: Sag LAKELAND WINTER HAVEN EAETQW Q fx LAKE WALES EQEK Qcvnumifv' ' '-JA-'Y V..-,f . .ff . Z, Representative steps in mining and processing phosphate-digging, washing and screening. drying, loading. and lab testing-are analogous to the sch0ol's preparation of the student for his role in promoting a better society. Each takes the rough material. works with it, and produces a refined, polished product. In doing this both find them- selves called upon to serve manifold purposes and needs. 155 'J av 'L ,,f 4-r' L . , H. 1 'um-s SLB -r gfv 'cf ,.,f f - E. my , rg vga? wif fi. if f f my A , - Wiifixii 4 S , 5 A , H--Saw 4 'i' - ,fimf ,f v +L, :.
