Cheerleaders stir student emotions Helping to boost our Cougar Pride was the lively squad of eight cheer¬ leaders. The cheerleaders were sel¬ ected by members of the faculty and the Student Senate in October. Those qual¬ ifying were Joan and Jan Weiser, Brenda Williams, Barbara Knobloch, Al Petz, Mark Hauser, Roger Switzer, and Kent Sallee. Alternates were Becky Miller, Nancy Lindholm, and Mary Lou Linenber- ger.

Cougar Cagers show their colors The twelve members of the first Bar¬ ton County Community Junior College Bas¬ ketball team concluded the 1969-70 sea¬ son with an overall record of nine wins and nineteen losses, and a three win- eleven loss record in the Kansas Jay- hawk Junior College Conference. The Cougar roundballers, coached by energe¬ tic Dick Nagy and Assistant Coach Jack Bowman, made a fine showing in their first year of play. Tom Cline, our 6 ' 9 center, was nam¬ ed to the Kansas Jayhawk Western Con¬ ference A11 Star Team.
