Barton Players prove their talents The first club to be organized on cam¬ pus was the Barton College Players, in October of 1969, with about 50 members. To carry out their purpose of providing opportunities for students to participate in theatrical productions and to provide opportunities for the public to enjoy and appreciate theatre, they produced three plays in their first year. The first production was the child¬ ren ' s theatre project of The Wizard of Oz in December, followed in February by an old fashioned melodrama, Dirty Work at the Crossroads, or Tempted, Tried, and True. The final production of the year was the all-school drama project David and Lisa in ApriI. Dowell publishes CAMPUS DAILY The supplement to the INTERROBANG, the CAMPUS DAILY, began its publication on Monday, April 13, 1970. Peggy Dowell, BCCJC student from Haviland, compiles and edits the news bulletin. It is a one-page paper, which comes out every morning ' . Contained in it is current school and local news, as well as the day ' s highlights from local, state, national, and international news. (4) The good witch, Sharon Collier, and the Scarecrow, Bill Coe, mingle after the performance. (5) The faces of the children pleased the Players the most.
