The Future Farmers of America or F.F.A. as it is commonly called is a national organization for urban and farm boys from 14 to 21 years of age. It was organized in 1928 by some devoted agriculture teachers who felt that farm boys needed more than just learning how to farm. Since then it has become one of the greatest organizations for boys in the world. It not only has an active mem¬ bership in the U.S., but in Puerto Rica also. The primary aim of the F.F.A. is to develop aggressive, compe¬ tent leadership. No time in our nationās history has the need been so great. The F.F.A. is a natural and practical program which believes in having by doing. It helps to explore careers directly related to agriculture and to recognize a need for continuing education. 70 monoQRarn Clue OppiceRS Stemming from the varsity sports at B.Y.H.S. is the Monogram Club. A high school paper has a high educa¬ tional value to student workers and a special value and acceptability to student readers. The purpose of a school paper is to publish the news and events of student and school life. It may also be a spring¬ board for those students who will pursue careers in journalism or allied fields, where it helps to know how to write clearly and concisely. The school newspaper reflects the kind of school it represents. So, it is very important that it be at its best. 72 Band Row l,left to right: Mr. Paul Shrewsbury,Director; Ruby Smith,Rosemary Hodges, Claudia Vernon, Donnie Oldham, Robert Neal.
