S ' he S ' chewc td Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time. —Longfellow The sands of our time are running out. Here we are, two-thirds of the way through the 20th Century, and what have we accomplished? Not much, perhaps, but we have left our marks upon the sands. God grant that they may be as lights to those who shall follow. As we planned and worked on this 1967 YAN-TAT we had one purpose in mind; to set forth something which would hold the memories of school days intact for the graduates, and to stress the inspiring message in Longfellow ' s famous poem. If we have been successful in any measure, we humbly give thanks to God, the Giver of all gifts and the Master of all works. It is something called the right arm of the student body. Serving as the voice of the students, it also supports and strengthens other school organizations. The Student Council consists of members chosen from each homeroom. These students are chosen for their leadership and co-operation. The goal of the Student Council is to help improve our school, and help other students to accept the responsibilities that are rightfully theirs. 76 Barry Boyd, President; Paul Johnston, Vice-President; Brenda Mise, Secretary; Sidney Vernon, Treasurer. A. as it is com¬ monly called is a national organization for urban and farm boys from 14 to 21 years of age. It was organized in 1928 by some devoted agriculture teachers who felt that farm boys needed more than just learning how to farm. Since then it has become one of the greatest organizations for boys in the world. It not only has an active membership in the U. S., but in Puerto Rica also. The primary aim of the F.F. A. is to develop aggressive, competent leadership. No time in our nation ' s history has the need been so great. The F. F. A. is a natural and practical program which be¬ lieves in having by doing. It helps to explore careers directly related to agriculture and to recognize a need for continuing education. 79 First Row: Clarence Gamer, Mike Allen, Sammy Campbell, Paul Johnston, Mark Atwater, Dan Pleasant, George Daniel Ricky Markham.
