This spirit, shown at games, in programs, to strangers, and perhaps even in class, is a unifying factor for Barstow. We hope the symbol of the B in the Weather- cock will tie together the various aspects of school life-and indeed make this year's Weather- cock a reflection of the pride we have in BARSTOW C 'D Table ot Contents Faculty ..... Members are chosen on the basis of friendliness, courtesy, honesty, and responsi- bility by the Faculty, Student Council, and Karies- sentes. Barstow's Red Cross chapter successfully spon- sored such fund drives as United Campaign and Youth Red Cross. At Christmas, filled boxes were sent to Viet Nam by the lower school, and Christmas stock- ings were sent to the Veteran's Hospital in Leaven- worth. Money was also collected for friendship kits to be given to children who are fire victims. Back Row: Pam Sutherland, Dave Bolton, Brien Jor- dan. The program originated last year under the direction of Debbie Hingston, a 1969 graduate of Barstow School. This year the program has continued under the direc- tion of Cathy Rush and Ann Lyons. Other students partic- ipating in this program in- clude: Debbie Wheelock, Diane Bennet, Cindy Case, Mary Evans, Donna Thoma- son, Bebe Brookfield, Susie Ryder, and Molly Schlup. The activities of this pro- gram vary from individual tutoring to field trips to the zoo and park. Not only the inner-city children but the students of Barstow have found this program interest- ing and very rewarding. CT if + 1 c ,. ,ff I 5 5 F W ,s,,..,V I it 5: 37 ,, , . i E J w I I . BAA Song Contest This year the Senior class won the B.A.A. Song Contest with their adaptation of Jet PIane by Peter, Paul, and Mary. All our bags are packed, we're ready to go. We're standing here outside this door. We hate to leave our friends and say goodbye . But the dawn is breakin', it's early morn. College is waitin', new paths to be worn. The future's bright but it's hard to say goodbye We're leavin' on a jet plane, Don't know when we'Il be back again. We're sad we have to go. Now the time has come to leave you. When we're gone we'll think about you. Hopingthat we'Il still be in your hearts. But the dawn is breakin', it's early morn. College is waitin', new paths to be worn.
