In the overflowing trophy case, there stands one hallowed cup which concerns every girl in Barstow, that is the championship cup which goes to the Green or White Team each year. Every Barstow girl is made a member of these teamsgand throughout her high school career, she, as an individual, strives to achieve points for her team. She is avidly loyal to the Green or the White, and she contributes energetically toward its ultimate goal of winning that cup. The two teams were established four years ago for the purpose of eliminating individual competition. Today there is friendly, vigorous rivalry between the Green and the White in hockey, basketball, and track. Both A and B teams give every girl an opportunity to participate and build that invaluable quality of working together-team spirit. An annual rope-pulling contest on Field Day climaxes the competition and often is the deciding factor in the close race for the top. The championship has fluctuated each year. The announcement that the cup goes to the ..... team always instills a certain pride and inevitable thrill in each Green or White Team member!
