The rugged green mounTain5 climbing up from The Pacific Ocean were a wel- come sighT 3fTer Two weeks aT sea. We arrived in Pearl Harbor on a brillionr morning and sailed pasT Diamond Head. Several Tugs sTreamed waTer from Their fire nozzles as a welcome for The firsf ATlanTic l:leeT desTroyers To deploy To The Pacific in seven years. Two shorT days aT l3e:irl Harbor were filled wiTh conferences, sighT-seeing and relaxing on The sands of Waikiki Beach. SomeTimes called The Paradise of The Pacific , Hawaii is famous for iTs subTropical beauTy, for iTs volcanic peaks and green plains, iTs palm fringed blue waTer, iTs whiTe surf, and iTs flowers. We also learned iT was famous for iTs personal warmTh expressed by The word ALOT-IA . As we bid our ALOHA, we all wished we mighT someday reTurn .... Did you see a Tiger go by on a surf board?
