Foreword In order to portray the present, to preserve the past and symbolically foretell the future, its in- ventions and mental advancement, its greater ca- pacity for service, We have made the Barron High School annual for 1929. No greater praise nor re- ward can come to the staff than to learn and feel that this has been accomplished.

ii BOARD o Education does not mean teaching people what they do not know. It moans teaching them to behave as they do not behave. It is not teaching the youth the shapes of letters and the tricks of numbers, and then leave them to turn their arithmetic to roguery, and their literature to lust. It means, on the contrary, training them into the perfect exercise and kingly continence of their bodies and souls.
