Shouldering the additional burdens, and assuming an ever increasing role in school administration, are the vice-princl-pals. Each one supervises a certain phase of the work, thus dividing the tremendous task and assuring more efficient administration in all areas The v.p.'s are an essential aid to the principal, assisting her with her many duties as well as fulfilling their own jobs in the most efficient way possible. School Starts With The Principal A High School principals work is difficult and demanding. However, Mrs. Bagby, our principal, has always found time to be a visible administrator. Assigned to Barringer High School as principal in 1978-79, she quickly asserted herself by assuming firm control of a hectic situation. Her Philosophy of strong authority, tempered with sensitivity and understanding, became a viable solution to the in-numberable problems that confront the administration in a school as large as Barringer. While being involved daily in decision making with faculty members, guidance personnel, and outside groups, she has always maintained contact with the student body by being available for consultation on various issues, in our day to day activities, some of her behind-the-scenes actions we might not have been aware of, but.. A Smooth Organization The secretaries in the main office and guidance office have jobs that only highly skilled organizers can handle. Without them Barringer could not function Their jobs include doing all the correspondence, school records; clerical duties, and of course answering the numerous phone calls that the school receives everyday.
