No one can forget the good times and the laughter. The parties.. .the football games... the cutting.. .the Spring days in the park.. .the corny jokes of the faculty—it was always chuckle or fail! But neither can we forget the bad times. The times of hatred and fear and prejudice. These were the unhappy moments in Barringer. The moments when we looked to each other for help and understanding. They are gone now. With our newfound maturity we conquered the ignorance and misunderstanding. We became too proud of our spirit of Brotherhood to submit to a foolish hatred. We've become ready to face reality because we've already seen it in Barringer. Those times didn't spoil our years in any way. We grew because of them. We learned to solve problems as a whole. We learned to live and work with all peoples of all nationalities. This was the greatest learning experience of all. Turning through these pages, we see that this book represents four long years of our lives. Years that when we started seemed so far away. This is our time, Class of 1974; there has been no other class like it in the 136 years of Barringer's existence and there will be none like it in the future because we are unique. We must say goodbye, but don't think it won't be hard. We will miss each other more than anything else. And now, as we get ready to leave Barringer, we look back on all this. We don't see the years split up into bad and good . We see a wonderful time of growth and learning. Taken in this light, all times were happy. Thank you, Barringer, for teaching us about life.
