Dedication Mr. Victor J. Salerno PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CHAIRMAN Friend, Coach and Educator For more than a century. Barringer has been dedicated to the development of keen minds and strong bodies. It has sought to instill in each student a sense of sportsmanship, fair play, and a desire to wiri. To this end competent and efficient Barringer faculties have devoted their time and effort. The essence of this goal is embodied in competitive sports and directed physical activities. Today the importance of physical fitness is more apparent than ever before as an essential of national interest. We of Barringer are fortunate to have a department of Physical Education acknowledged to be one of the finest in the state. A reputation as splendid as this was not obtained by chance, it has been developed through the ability and devotion of a true educator. Mr. Victor Salerno. Many trophies and honors, both city and state, have been won for Barringer through Mr. Salerno’s coaching. But. far more important than these victories is the spirit Mr. Salerno has sought to instill in each of his boys, whether on a team or in his class. Mr. Salerno, you have given to your students the meaning of leadership, sportsmanship, a desire to win. and the need to win fairly.
