FOREWORD The four years wherein we have had the pleasure and privilege of being a vital part of the greatness and the tradition for which Barringer stands, have come to a close. At this point, we, the class of January 1943, wish to pause and draw a comparison. The leaves of the mighty oak, having attained their strength and maturity, drop off to be scattered out into the world on the eddying swirls of the wind. So, too, it is with us. And now as we face the world of today, with all its insecurity and darkness, there is in our hearts and minds the spirit of confidence—confidence that in that world we will find our place, for we know our place is there. With this thought as its guiding force and with our sincere wish that it will record all the things Barringer has meant to us, we present this book.
