SENIOR CLASS HISTORY On September 6 1955, thirteen adventurous seeking freshmen were waiting at the spaceport in Barrett to board the BHS for a four year traveling spree Mr Smodell was in charge that year with help from Jerry Jacobson as president, Carlton Chayer as vice presldent, Kay Grayson as secretary, and Robert Shervey as treasurer Our representatives at the governing council were Carolyn Isakson and Clair Nelson On October 21, while we were viewing Mars we were iniatiated The next year we counted the passengers and found that we had lost two Bruce Arthun left us to go to Austin and Earl Thompson went to Hoffman during the year In 1956 Mr Hauer was captain of the ship The officers for that year were Clair Nelson President, Nancy Puchalski Vice President, Sharolyn Erickson Secretary Treasurer, and the Student Council members were Lucille Brau and Earl Thompson In early October we had the pleasure of initiating the Wgreen freshmen N In 1957 we had ten passengers again, and we had a very exciting year Mrs Quist was our leader then, with the help of Robert Shervey, President, Clair Nelson, Vice President, Kay Grayson, Secretary, and Carolyn Isakson, Treasurer Our Coumcil representatives were Robert Shervey and Eugene Anderson In the fall we gave our class play named NA Boy Named Buelah W A Banquet and Prom In the fall of 1958 we again had ten passengers abroad Mrs Quist was again our captain Jerry Jacobson was the pres ident, Robert Shervey was our vice-president, Nancy Puchalski our secretary and Sharolyn Erickson our treasurer Council representatives were Clair Nelson, Kay Grayson and Jerry Jacob son During the fall we had a quick stop at Barrett High for Homecoming events Our candidates were Carolyn Isakson, Kay Grayson, Sharolyn Erickson, Clair Nelson, Jerry Jacobson, and Carlton Chayer Kay Grayson and Clair Nelson were elected to be Queen and King The highlights of the year were our trip to Chicago for Skip Day, and the Junior Senior Prom SENIOR CLASS PROPI-IECY As we are traveling through the Orient, we are finding many familiar faces Haven't we seen these faces before? Oh, yes, it was at Commencement exercises at Barrett High School in 1959 It is surprising we still recognize them, for it is now l97h, and they surely have changed Because we are in Hong Kong, China, we hail a rickshaw for traveling about the city Why, Eugene Anderson is our driver! We knew he was interested in different types of locomotion but we always thought his interest tended toward those in wh1ch motors did all the work we stop at an old Chinese ruin where Kay Grayson is guiding the tour We find that after high school she took a language course and then went to China She teaches English on the side As we are looking over the rice paddles, we see a familiar person It turns out to be Jerry Jacobson looking very different with his pants legs rolled up and a coolie hat on his head Eight children are clustered about him and, when 1nquiring about them, we fxnd they are Jerry's 3 little while later we were all kept busy with the Junior-Senior
