'KA -.i'1FCP1l 1 ,K .X The annual staff and their sponsor are to be commended for their excellent work this year. They have had a very important task to perform and have met the challenge with an enthusiastic desire to make this the best yearbook in the history of the school. As you look through this book, page by page, I am sure you will agree that they can be justly proud of their work. -'INR snr- is my 'iii ew, Many things have helped make this year a pleasure. The acts of kindness, willingness to do the extra things that are so essential to a good school, the practice of good citizenship by so many of the student body, the impor- tance that you place on high scholarship, par- ticipation in school activities-are but a few. Mrs. Beach and I wish each of you suc- cess and happiness during the many years ahead. Sincerely yours, E. L. BEACH, Principal. Have you ever wondered just exactly what our schools are, what they are supposed to do, and why they are so necessary in our complex society? Many people have asked themselves these questions and failed to come up with satis- factory answers. Many books could be, and have been writ-ten on this subject but Leon C. Marshall condensed his answers into one paragraph. I like his description of our schools and would like to pass it on to you: The schools are simply institutions spec- ialized to the task of helping youth to find short cuts to the world's wisdom. They aid him to organize his experiences, to recognize relationships and sequences in natural phe- nomena: to understand, as much as he may, the behavior of his fellows in order that he may co-operate-or refuse to co-operate with them. Sincerely yours, A. E. GLENN, Principal.

Superintendent -,.,.'f ' ' MMA ff -w 'l,- THE SUPERINTENIDENTS MESSAGE The best school is one -is which boys and girls will grow in strength and wisdom and in favor with God and man. Dr. Claude Miller, former president of the N. E. A. I think that the Bairnsdall Schools are doing a good job to- ward -training their youth to grow in these areas. The respon- sibilities for good christian and citizenship training ests with the home, the church, and the school. The churches and com- munity are to be commended for their interest in organizing worthy youth programs. The school has developed a Student Council in which we can all justly be proud. Your school curriculum is rich enough to give each of you the necessary experience so that you may take your rightful place in a Democratic society, Courses necessary for prepara- tion for college are offei ed in the school curriculum. The school board is to be commended for their wisdom in planning housing facilities for their teachers. This investment will pay large dividends liv making teaching positions more at- tractive in youi school district. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year as your superin- tendent and hope this annual will help you to recall many pleas- ant memories in the years to come. Sincerely yours, G. R. GRIFFIN, Superintendent.
