Admu mstratlon It IS lndeed a pleasure to have this opportumty through the pages of your annual to congratulate you on a very successful school year neanng completxon It has been a happy year for me and my desire IS that xt has been equally happy for you, the students of Bamsdall school Upon comxng to Barnsdall last fall as your Hlgh School prmclpal I was especlally impressed by the excellent condltxon of the school plant and all of the very fine modem equipment that has been made available by the Board of Education and your school admxmstratnon Very few schools our sxze have equivalent maternals and equllxnent with whlch to work It behooves us all to make the very best posslble use of all these fme tools Observatxons have shown me that there are a few students who do not realize the value of this equipment nor are they appreclatxve of lt Thls has been maxufested through carv ed mltxals and other marks of destruction My message will take the form of a questxon which wxll I thmk cause each of us to stnve to make the next school year even more successful than thxs one has been Let us ask our selves Have I made the most of all the opportunxtxes whlch have been available to me All of the school facllxtles xnclud mg teachers and equxpment have been provlded by this com mumty for the use of each student They exxst for no other purpose Let each of us then go back to the question just raxsed and evaluate our experxences thxs past year Perhaps most of us can see that we haven t really made the most of our opportumtles but we can resolve to xmprove thxs next school year and make lt a better year than any other m the past has been I know that the Echo of 1953 w1ll echo and re echo many txmes throughout your hfe To you who are semors, your educatlon does not cease wxth your graduatxon nor wxll xt ever cease Educatxon IS more than 1ust schooling ln tradltlonal subJect matter or Just an ab soxptxan of the 3 Rs Your behavxor toward your hfes work and fellow men wall be the result of your educatlon It 15 hoped that you have not learned only the shapes of letters or the trlckery of numbers merely to turn llterature to lust or your arxtmetlc to roguery but that through your use of such tools you have gained values by which to llve To all of you thls has been another very engoyable year where a lot of work and effort has been put forth and I am sure much has been accomnhshed by everybody I'm sure that each of you have had many enjoyable experiences whlch you will remember throughout hfe So here s hopxng that the Echo may brlng nothing but pleasant memorles of the school year of 54. 53 To the faculty and students Smcerely yours Ramon Reno Very truly yours, Leo E Crawford
