Barneveld, Wisconsin Hi-Lites 1973 Table of Contents Faculty..................... 4 Seniors 14 Underclassmen 24 Grade School 32 Activities..................40 Organizations 50 Sports 66 Index ......................83 Advertisements 84 For everything there is a season And a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to teach, and a time to be taught, A time to lead, and a time to be led, A time to change, and a time to be changed, A time to be young, and a time to grow old, A time for friends, and a time for yourself, A time to win, and a time to lose, A time to weep, and a time to laugh, In our time, a time of peace, — Adapted from Ecclesiastes III: 1-9 2 A time to teach, and a time to be taught 4 This year, we, the 1973 senior class, as a token of our appre- ciation, dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Gwendolyn Hodgson and Mr. William O'Keefe. Mr. O'Keefe's expert techni- cal knowledge helped us through many difficult years of building floats while Mrs. Hodgson's organizational abili- ties guided us through many unruly class meetings. We wish to thank them for all the assistance they have given us, and especially for being our advisors throughout high school. 6 Administrators Rule the School Mr. Richard Neel came to our school at the beginning of 1972. In his position as district superintendent and grade school principal, his duties are many and varied. Mr. Neel sets an example for us that hard work never hurt anyone by fill- ing the milk machines, presid- ing over school board meet- ings, painting the gym, and ar- ranging for state aids, among other duties. High school principal A. Thomas Stumpf began his du- ties here in the fall of 1972. When he is not solving prob- lems as a Public Peon he is serving as athletic director and teaching Spanish. Mr. Stumpf's loud Yo-ohs and infectious laughter make our days truly delightful. 7 School Board — Seated: Ralph Oimoen, Mary Ann Myers, Tom Hodgson. Standing: Dale Theobald, Russell Moyer. Ralph Paulson retired from his post as a school board member after a continuous career of over thirty years. His years of service have seen many changes. In 1947 the cost of operation was $35,000 and by 1972 it had sky-rocketed to $500,000. Mr. Paulson believes the changes have been worth- while. It has been for the good of our children, and be- cause of them. I felt there was no better investment or any- thing more important. Perhaps this is the reason I stayed at it so long. We're glad he stayed so long and he will be missed. 8 Mr. AI Antonson Science Mrs. Sue Baumgartner Library, Sixth Grade Mr. Phil Beavers Music Mr. Jac Blasi Social Studies Mrs. Barbara Bliss Guidance Miss Diane Hanson Physical Education Mrs. Hazel Helgeson Third Grade Mr. Tim Hellpap Fifth Grade Mrs. Liwen Modgson Commercial Education 9 Mrs. Anita Jabs Kindergarten Mrs. Gloria Kalscheur Fourth Grade Mrs. Debbie Kinder English Miss Marge Klema Third Grade Mrs. Linda Martin First Grade Mrs. Ruth Moll Second Grade Mr. Carl Mook Mr. Bill Murfield Mr. Bill O'Keefe Phy.
