CLASS HISTORY Scene I--Green Freshman August, 1965, brough us the Class of 69 to the doorstep of Bameveld High for our next four years of education. As timed rolled on, we, with the aid of our advisors Mr. Zablocki and Mr. Erdman we prospered much. Our first worry was Initiation Day; but when the fatal day arrived, we found, to our surprise, that it was not nearly as bad as the upperclassmen had prophesied. Officers for our first year were as follows: President; Greg Duffey, Vice-President; Doug Swenson, Secretary; Gail Osborn, and Treasurer: Lana Oimoen. Our Student Council represent- atives were Sonja Ameson, Diane Richard, and Larry Raisbeck. Fair representative was Dianne Handel with Leo Humphrey as her escort. Our Homecoming representative was Doug Swenson with his date Dianne Handel. During the year Terry Sickels entered our class, however our class enrollment was decreased to 34 with the loss of Roberta Blake, Joe Capello and Tom McDonald. Scene II--Sophisticated Sophomores In the fall we returned as sophisticated Sophomores and enthusiastically took part in athlet- ics, forensics, and other activities. One step closer to our goal Mr. Erdman and Mr. Zablocki were our class advisors once again. Our class leaders included: President; Lana Oimoen, Vice-President; Nancy Campbell, Secretary; Larry Raisbeck, and Treasurer; Diane Richard. Our Fair representative was Kay Bohle with her escort Roger Jabs. Greg Duffey was chosen as our Homecoming representative with his date Audrey Reeson. Our Student Council representatives were Phyllis Moen, Gail Os- born, and Greg Duffey. Kathy Buckingham left us in the middle of the year. Scene IlI--Proud Juniors Thirty-four proud Juniors, the following year, aimed toward higher goals than every before under the advising of Mrs. Mullen and Mr. Skinrood. Elected officers were President; Kathy Rue, Vice-President; Doug Swenson, Secretary; Kay Bohle, and Treasurer; Nancy Campbell. Diane Richard, Larry Raisbeck, and Lana Oimoen represented us well in Student Council. We started off the year with Freshman initiation which was alot of fun, especially for the Juniors. Fair representative was Dave Meyer with his date Dianne Handel. Next came our class play, They Gave Him A Co-ed, directed by Mrs. Skinrood and Mrs. Owens which was a very unusual kind of mystery comedy. Don Nihles escorting Charlene Wirth were Homecoming rep resentatives from the Junior class. At last came the climax to our whole Junior year. Junior Prom! We used Flower Lane as our theme and accordingly used hedges, flowers, terraces, garden furniture, and a bridge; all contributing to make our Junior Prom a success. Everyone thought it was beautiful, especially the Juniors. Reigning as royal couple were Larry Raisbeck and Nancy Campbell. Scene IV- Almighty Seniors Enthusiasm is building! We have almost reached our goal. Ken Bettice left us to join the service, but our class has now increased to 36 with the addi- tion of Diane and Dave Campbell, and Roland Dyerson. Our Senior year found us with a large representation in extra curricular activities--cheerleading, football, basketball, wrestling, GAA, forensics, and other activities. As for class advisors, Mr. Paskey had the honor along with Mr. Schaeffer. Class officers this year were President; Lana Oimoen, Vice-President; Nancy Campbell, Secretary; Sonja Ameson, and Treasurer; Gail Osborn. Representing us in Student Council was President Larry Raisbeck along with Diane Richard, Kay Bohle, and Greg Duffey. Our first event of the year. Fair, found Diane Richard and Roger Jabs reigning over our Fair activities, Greg Duffey represented our class on the Court and his date was Charlene Wirth. Next, came Senior Class Play. Under the able direction of Mrs. Schaeffer on November 2 we proved our acting ability by presenting A Rocket In His Pocket. Everyone agreed it was an overwhelming success. Homecoming soon appeared as we see Roland Dyerson and Lana Oimoen reigning as King and Queen. Bob Forbes was chosen as representative escorting Sandra Peterson. Another big job during our Senior year was the annual, edited by Kathy Rue and Kay Bohle, under the guidance of Mr. Erdman. As a climax to our high school years we went on our hard earned Senior class trip. As Freshman, we looked forward to four years of high school. Now, even though the years are gone, many pleasant memories will remain with us. Soon we will walk down the halls of B.H.S. for the last time, and when we come to the door each one of us wishes to be remembered by his schoolmates and teachers. We hope that in departing, we leave behind more than just vacant seats, with hope that someday we'll meet you again, we close the doors of our high school career. 18
