table of contents Memory Dedication Faculty Seniors Juniors Sophomores Freshmen VERNON Organizations Athletics THOUSAND Activities Elementary Advertisements (1921-1965) It was with deep sorrow that on September 16, 1965 the news came to our school that Vernon Thousand had passed away. He will be re- membered by all as a faithful father, a fine friend, and conscientious citizen of our community. His words were few but kind, his smile genuine and true. We remember him gratefully. LESTER SUTTON (1906-1965) In Memory of Mr. Sutton who gave unselfishly of his time and effort to the students, friends, and the community. He was a dedicated teacher and worked devotedly for a better school. To the students, he was a friend who helped them with their problems, to the teachers he was a leader of en- couragement, and to the school personnel he was a dedicated inspiration. The memories of his diligent work and friendly ways will never be forgotten. We the Senior Class of 1966 dedicate this annual to our faithful janitor, Mr. Richard Harpold, who has been with us for the past seven years. His warm smile and cheerful ways greet us each day in the halls of Barneveld High School. He is an understanding friend to everyone. His tireless work in keeping our school a clean and desirable place for work and play is deeply appreciated. For this and his kindness and warmness of heart, we thank him. 2 t teaVustUo tearoom ated metal ball to be water to make tea. ber't; -ber.t), n. d'he eb short or sweet biscu §- ■ 'i, H. - TEA. VA . The Eagles finished with a record of four wins, three losses, and two ties. Lack of experience proved to be the team's greatest handicap; however, a determined line and experi- enced back field will return next year. We're Proud of you Team ! ROW I: D. Reeson, L. '66 Wrestling was introduced into the Barneveld High School Athletic Pro- gram this year. This is the first time for this exciting sport in this school. Fans and wrestlers have found the sport very interesting and exciting. We did not have a winning season, but this was to be expected since it was our first year in this sport, so full of science and skill. There were seventeen wrestlers out for the sport filling all weight classes. This is something to be proud of since even large schools have forfeits. In dual matches, Barneveld won one and lost six. In Conference, we won one and lost three. The boys participated in tournament matches and received much valuable experience. This has been a building year for wrestling, but it is hoped that the enthusiasm for this thrilling sport will be maintained by the Barneveld students. The classes represented were: five freshmen, five sophomores, six juniors, and one senior. Bernie Dyreson, the only senior, did a fine job in the 165 weight class. He had a 4 and 0 record in the conference and a good overall record. The school is proud of all the wrestlers! 42 B A S E B A L L ROW I: Coach Zablocki, D. Oimoen, D. DeVoe, S. Thoni, J. Johnsrud, O.
