What a day! Eighteen green freshmen entered the portals of Barneveld High School. The first step, getting acquainted, was helped along by initiation was rather embarrassing for some, fun for others, and made us full-fledged members of B.H.S. Mrs. Sara Larson, our class advisor, got us off to a good start, especially in the earning of money department. Our class officers for the '57-'58 session were: President, Sandra Harris, Vice Pres., Patsy Mueller, Secretary. Dave Gilbertson, Treasurer, Lane Theobald, and Student Council, Don Budd. The football cheerleader was Sandy Harris; the basketball cheerleader was JoAnn Burreson. Patsy Mueller was our School Fair Representative and was escorted by Ron Jabs. On the Homecoming court the Freshmen class was represented by Dave Gilbertson whose date for the evening was Sandra Harris. During our first year our class decreased in number to fifteen with the loss of Patsy Mueller, Dale Haroldson, and Don Nelson. ACT II: September 1958; Barneveld High School Sophomores!!! Well, we’re back again, 17 strong under Mr. Kowalsky, our class advisor, we made progress but our officers should receive most of this progress praise. The officers for this year were: Pres., Bill Hughes, V. Pres., Charles Theobald, Secretary, Jo Burreson, Treasurer, Sandy Harris, and Student Con. Bev Dodge. Our Fair Rep. was JoAnn Burreson, by Dean McCarthy. On the Homecoming court Don Budd represented us andhis date was Sue Ameson. Our football cheerleader was Sandy Harris and basket- ball cheerleader was JoAnn Burreson. We lost no class members this year and were excitingly looking forward to our junior year. ACT III: September 1959; Barneveld High School. Juniors!! ! Upper-classmen now and we let everyone, especially the Freshmen know it. Julie Dermody, Leo- nard Harpold and Ron Fargo joined us making the troup twenty strong. Mr. Richard Peterson was our class advisor. Our officers for the year were: pres. Don Budd, vice-pres. Bev Dodge, secretary Sandy Harris, treasurer, JoAnn Burreson, student con. Carol Carden and Ron Fargo. There were four really big events for us this year. First of all, initiation, what a riot, for us anyway. Secondly, we got our class rings. Third in line and by far the most important our Junior Prom! Our theme Stairway to the Stars was worked out in two shades of blue and silver. Benny Ehr provided the music. The king Don Budd and Queen Sandra Harris made for attractive reigning pair and the crowning of the royality hi-lighted the evening. In our opinion this was the most success- ful and beautiful prom Barneveld has ever held. Fourth in line was the Jr.-Sr. Class play, The Night of Janu- ary 16th directed by Miss Ellen Danielson. This proved to be a very big success. Football cheerleaders were Jo- Ann Burreson 'and Sandra Harris. The Basketball cheer- leader was JoAnn Burreson. Only 1 more year!! ! ACT IV: September 1960 Barneveld High School. Seniors!!! The big year now, we're seniors. Oliver Sutton entered our school making our class number 21. Our advisors were Mr. L. V. Sutton and Miss Ellen Warnke. Our class officers were: pres. Russell Moyer, vice pres. Dave Gilbertson, secretary, Bev Dodge, treasurer, Oliver Sutton. Elaine Moen was our Fair representative, she was also elected Queen. Elaine's escort was Bill Hughes. Charles Theobald reigned as King and JoAnn Burreson as Queen for Homecoming which was held January 13, 1961. John Helmenstine was our representative and his date was Kay Callahan. Charlie's Aunt, our Sr. Class Play, held in March was an outstanding success. Our annual editor and co-editor was Sandra Harris and Elaine Moen, respectively. The Junior Prom representative was Russell Moyer. Football cheerleaders for the seniors were Elaine Moen, Sandra Harris and JoAnn Burreson, basketball cheerleaders were Sandra Harris and JoAnn Burreson. FOUR YEARS OF CLASS PRESIDENTS Freshmen: Sandy Harris, Sophomore: Bill Hughes, Junior: Don Budd, Senior: Russell Moyer. fate, 'ZVtCC I, Jo Ann Burreson, will my last name to Alvie so he can change it for me. I, Carol Carden, will my red hair to Mary Beth Stenseth. I, Mary Zepplin, leave this high school, because I can't take it with me. I, Elaine Moen, will my gift of gab, to the underclassmen of B.H.S. I, Lane Theobald, leave with a Bang. I, Bill Hughes, leave whatever I have, to whoever needs whatever I have and can do anything with whatever I have. I, Ollie Sutton, will my deep voice to Bob Keene. I, John Helmenstine, will my dare-devil ability with a car to professional drivers. They probably could learn a few tricks. I, Len Harpold, leave my ideas on women to the junior boys. I, Russell Moyer, leave my pestering mischief behind me. I, Julie Dermody, will my ability to be seen and not heard to the freshmen class. I, Dave Leuthold, will my bowling ability to Sue Arneson. I, Dave Gilbertson, will my curly hair to Bill Jones. I, Evelyn Osborn, will my dancing ability to Lynn Knight, who already has got a good start. I, Charles Theobald, will my athletic ability to the future athletes at B.H.S. I, Lonnie Arneson, will my innocent face to Rebecca Watson, but you never can tell. I, Ron Fargo, leave my memory to all those lucky girls at B.H.S. I, Sandra Harris, leave my keen sense, common sense and nonsense to the under-classmen. 12 (?Cei44. 'P iafi6ecct Listen, O ye men and women, youths and maidens!
