CLASS WILL The Senior Class, who claim they're calm and cool, Will their patience to the teachers, who need it as a rule. To the underclassmen, we proudly leave, These prize possessions we no longer need. We will to the Juniors, who will be left behind, These good old torn-up school books which weighed upon our minds. We will to the Sophomores, that class that's so vigor, Our methods to use, in any problems they figure. We will to the Freshmen, the class that’s still green, Four years in the finest school, we’ve ever seen. Viola Arndt wills her ability to get a man, To the Freshmen girls, who will if they can. Jackie Berg, a short little lass, Wills her appendix to the biology class. Arbutus Bohle, who is always neat, Wills her neatness to class room seats. Barbara Burns, tall and slim, Wills everything but Donald, 'cause she likes him. Walt Campbell wills his height, To Donnie Dimpfl, who is a little mite. Carl Christen wills his education, To his brother, Wayne, who thinks it'll be rationed. Dick Dauck, or Dauck wills his glasses, To Roger Berry, so he can kiss the lasses. Karen Duffey wills her Ridgeway guys, To Carol Theobald, who also thinks they’re wise. Bud Evans, that great basketball man, Wills his love to his Irish fan. Don Gilbertson wills his educated brain, To the Sophomore boys, who find school such a strain. Paul Helgeson wills that handsome face, To Bill Meyer to replace that disgrace.

CLASS PROPHECY Time: 1966 Place: My home I am sitting here watching Ed Murrow's Person-To-Person television program and tonight he visited the homes of all the 1956 Barneveld High School graduates. A summary of his visits is as follows: Viola Arndt is leading a successful life as a housewife near Platteville. Jackie Berg has attended four years of art school, and at the present is revising and repainting the movie, Artists and Models. Arbutus Bohle is still working in Madison at the switchboard, and is making a stab for every bachelor that rings her number. Barbara Burns is leading a happy life as a mother and housewife, She has four little Moyers to entertain her. Walter Campbell has a ten year contract with Joey Chitwood as a deatndodger. He is doing well, because of his past experiences as a daredevil in 1956. Carl Christen is the Republican Governor of Wisconsin. He plans to run for president in the next national election. Dick Dauck is married and has a family. He is a retired lawyer and is living in a mansion. Karen Duffey has spent six years at the University of Wisconsin taking general courses, and is still trying to decide what to major in. LeRoy Evans has conquered the home place, and has gathered himself a gorgeous wife, two boys, and a girl. After eight years with the Leathernecks, Don Gilbertson has found himself a wife and is living in his home community. Paul Helgeson has deepened his interest in the Duerst homestead, and thinks now that he can swing it. Bernard Henry is still working, paying for the '47 Plymouth. Larry Jabs is having trouble going to college, and supporting Sharon and their five young ones. Marian Meyer is giving dancing lessons at all the neighboring Army Camps. Marvel Nelson has gone into business making his own automobiles. Jim Owens is general manager of the Barneveld Co-op. Joe Owens has bought out the Thoni Feed and Fuel Co. Monica Ryan is still working, but she still has hope for herself, as she says, Life begins at forty. Bill Short is living at Spring Green, where he has spent most of his time since he graduated. Dick Theobald is a retired farmer and is an agent for the Farm Bureau. Merton Watrud is a Five Star General in the Army. His job is training natives in Africa. He thinks he’s a wheel that will never stop rolling. Carol Stenseth is a secretary in a pawn shop. She plans to get married in her late 70's. Stanley Wetter is manager of Barneveld Motors, and is doing an excellent job of supporting Carol. After my television set was turned off, I sat there dreaming of the fun and happiness our class had shared. In concluding my dream, I come to this statement, Memory is one gift of God that time cannot destroy.
