CLASS PROPHECY It was a bright day in May, 1965, at the train terminal when we heard the conductor call, All Aboard, All Aboard. A couple of late passengers clambered aboard the train Destination Future and we were on our way. I had taken the last empty seat without paying any attention to anyone; I began to read my news- paper. An article struck my eye! Elden Cushman, a U. W. student, was made head of the U. W. farms. I realized I had been reading out loud when the man across the aisle, caught my attention and said that he had graduated with the class Elden was in. And much to my surprise it was Phil Schaller. He said he was a big salesman in Milwaukee. He's selling Pepsi Cola pop. They say the company has been going in the hole of late. I wonder why. We exchanged news and soon both of us knew what the Class of 1955 was doing. Ronald Gilbertson has gone to Milwaukee with Phil Schaller. Now I see why Pepsi Cola is going in the hole. La Verne Marty is running a Swiss Cheese Factory down by Monroe. Maxine Theobald is working in Madison and still looking for a good looking man. Mary Arnold is married and is keeping house down on the Trainor Farm. Jean Ranney is now head secretary of Wolworth's Household Finance Company in Madison. Lois Dougherty is married to a rich executive and has five maids working for her in her mansion. Harold Thorpe is head basketball coach at Mineral Point. He is married and has a small family of 10 boys. Phil Erickson is a big baseball star, and he plays for the Milwaukee Braves. Dick Dodge lives in Lancaster with a family of four. He has been very successful in business. Ray Bunbury is in business with his brothers. They have a monopoly on lightening rods in tlie Madison area. Pat Me Sherry has just closed a big deal in which he bought the Club 18. Billy Friedli has gone to California and he likes it so well that he stayed. They say he set up a dancing studio in Hollywood and is stealing Arthur Murray's business. Our train was due to reach its destination very soon, so this concluded our visit about the Senior Class of 1955.

CLASS HIGHLIGHTS September, 1951 was a happy exciting day for fourteen timid ambitious Freshmen as they entered Barneveld High School under the leadership of Mr. Virgil Butteris. Our class enrollment increased to fifteen when Eugene Budd entered from Fennimore. Our initiation was one event we will always remember. Dressed in our gunny sack dresses, big five buckle boots, bathing suits, and housecoats we looked like a bunch of goblins. We elected the following for our class officers: President, Elden Cushman; Vice-President, Billy Friedli; Secretary, Pat McSherry; Treasurer, Mary Arnold; Student Council, Phil Erickson. Sophomores, and no longer those green Freshmen! Dick Dodge entered from Ridgeway. We elect ed the following for class officers: President, Phil Erickson; Vice-President, Dick Dodge; Secretary, Norene Reuter; Treasurer, Donna Varcoe; Student Council, Jean Ranney. Juniors! Oh, we're getting there. The first big event this year was the arrival of our class rings. Then it was initiating the Freshmen, and before that evening was over several Juniors looked as bad as the Freshmen. Our Junior Class Play entitled Finders Creepers held on November 18, proved to be very exciting. The biggest event for this year was our Prom, entitled Star Dust , held on May 8. This meant decorating, dates, and fun. Queen Rosie Sutter and King Pat McSherry led the grand march with music furnished by Dan Garson. In the fall of our Junior year two of our classmates did not return; Eugene Budd transferred to Hollandale, and Waiter Evans at home. Harold Thorpe joined us from Mineral Point. Seniors! Weren’t we big then? At least we thought we were. Our first big task for the year was to get started with our annual. We elected the following for our class officers: President, Dick Dodge; Vice-President, Phil Schaller; Secretary, Mary Arnold; Treasurer, Maxine Theobald. Our Homecoming was held on January 21. The evening was off to a good start with our win over Hollandale, Sammy Eggum furnished the music for our grand march led by Queen Jean Ranney and King Pat McSherry. All in all our four years at Barneveld High have proven to be very successful.
