Th6 weather was ideal and a large crowd attended. The first event of the day was judging the exhibits. This event took most of the morning because of the numerous entries. At noon a parade of beautifully decorated floats, exhibits, and bands attracted a large group of spectators. The Junior Class won lirst place with their Conservation float and the Barneveld Grades won first placing in the School Days division. The tractor driving contest was held next with Ronald Gilbertson taking first place. At 2:00, the big event of the afternoon, the football game took place with Highland emerging as the victors by a score of 33-0. A dance was held in the evening at the gym with music by Bob Gest. The fair queen, Norita Eveland, was crowned by the Advancement Association Pres- ident, Rev. Monard Sanford. She chose Dan Williams to reign as her king. The court of honor included: Jean Ranney, Margreth Hosking, Carol Boe, Audrey Owens, and Helen Zepplin.
