men If you have ever been a freshman, you can Imagine how we felt Sept- ember 5, 1950, our first day in Barneveld Union Free High School. Thirty—three freshmen roamed from room to room completely lost. Through classes, study hail, and class meetings we became acquainted and a well organized class. To hold the offices of our class we choose: President,. Tom Duesler; Vice President, Jerry Blaser; Secretary, Frederick Segrebrecht; Treasurer, Bill Brennan; and Class Reporter, Leatrice Retrum. All the freshmen were required to study science, general business, and English while the fourth sub- ject was agriculture for the boys and geography for the girls. We sponsored the Christmas oarty which proved to be successful. omoreS Glad to be soohomores, twenty-six of us returned to chat over summer vacations and plan a new school year filled with academic achievements as well as extra-curricular activities. The end of the first six-weeks period found a good share of sopho- mores on the honor roll. Seven of the boys played on the football team. Danny Williams, Rush Watson, David Arnold and Leo Clerkin represented the class on the A Basketball team. We're musical too — being active in band and chorus. Our class entertained the stud- ent body at the annual Halloween party. Before the year was over we lost Vernon Christiansen and Charles Ryman. Row I Kay Rowan, Ethel Owens, Charlotte Frame, Abgail Sawle, Delores Rolstad, Leone Retrum, Marie Brattlie, Carol Burreson, Row II Mary Grimstad, Jane Klusendorf, Margie Grimstad, Rush Watson, Howard Theobald, Billy Myers, Gary Massey, Mr. McCloskey,.(adv.)
