CLASS PROPHECY Glancing into the crystal ball we see it is the year I960. Members of the Senior Class of 1950 can be seen as they go about their activities. Helen Brennan is farming down in Walnut Hollow. Helen Burns is a nurse in Dodgeville so she can be close to Mineral Point. Marlene Clemo is the publicity manager of Roy Roger's horse, Trigger. Jane Donahue is farming down by Arena. She and her husband, Jimmy say a home wouldn't be a home without the patter of little feet—they have two dogs. Sylvia Duerst is a manager of a school for future book- keepers. Vernon Kelly is a singing cowboy and still has a grudge against cows. Wilma Marty is a cheesemaker's wife and likes it ex- cept the part of getting up and turning the cheese. Beth Meili is keeping house and has invented a new soap for washing grease out of overalls (mechanic's overalls). Anita Oimoen is keeping house on the Watkins farm. So far her husband has had to buy two new cars to keep her happy. David Opsal has a string of taverns from Blue Mounds to Denver. He has made so much money that the government is asking him to help pay the national debt. Joyce Owens is a concert pianist touring Navy camps and feed mills. Joe Ryan is a pro-football star making $100,000 dollars a year--he is known as the only man to go to college with an A average. Glen Ryman is president of the Last National Bank in India. He has a harem over there also. Delbert Schaller is the principal of a school in northern Wisconsin. Lois Schaller is working in Madison and still looking for a good-looking man. Marilyn Schaller hasn't made up her mind as to whether it is going to be Bill or Vernon. Faythe Swacina has a partnership in a drug store chain in New York and Chicago. Barry Watkins is farming and still going to dances at Turner Hall. BARNEVELD HOMECOMING The Homecoming was held January 20th, with Barneveld playing Ridgeway where the opponents won in a thrilling game. Everyone felt bad about the game but they made up for it at the dance that followed. The Royal Ceremonies got under way at eleven o'clock p.m. The Queen and the court were then introduced. The King, Vernon Kelly, selected Eva Nell Goke as alumni queen and the Queen, Marilyn Schaller, selected Rush Watson as alumni King. The alumni queen was presented with a corsage of white carnations. Carol Williams, the former queen, then crowned Queen Marilyn with a wreath of yellow roses. The Grand March was led by Queen Marilyn and King Vernon, followed by Jane Donahue, Ida Wegmueller, Betty Anderegg, Irene Week, and their escorts. The music was furnished by Hal Mack and orchestra. 15

JUNIOR HISTORY Most of us can still recall the day in the fall of 1947 that we reluctantly wended our way for the first time up the stairs in good old Barneveld High. We were all well cared for and protected under the guiding hand of Mr. 0 Neill. As the year passed we gradually forgot all the difficulties that were ours at the beginning of our high school training. As the summer rolled along we soon found it time to enter school again. This year there were twenty-six of us. 1950--that exciting year--just think, we are Juniors. Our first thrill was the privilege of initiating our fellow Freshmen. Then came the thrill of selecting a class ring the anticipation of the Junior Prom and class play. As we end this year we look forward with eager anticipation to that year of 1951 when we will become Seniors! 17
