The senior class of '88 has a style all its own, with an accent more on comfort than neatness. The guys tend to favor high-top shoes with the laces untied and tube socks. Shirttails were commonly untucked, and sleeves were rolled up. Coats and jackets were sporty looking and sun- glasses often accompanied. Haircuts were either below the collar or closely trimmed with few riding the fence. This is only a summary of the '88 fashions, many seniors chose to be themselves and make their own styles. C 2 W h-1 ►« H CO Popular brands of jeans were Lee's, Wrangler's, and Levi's. In the way of shirts, the class was split; half favored flannel shirts and half favored t-shirts with a favorite sports team or rock band on the front. 12

CO 00 CD s The fashion for the Senior girls of 1988 varied with each girl's personality. While some preferred the longer prairie-style skirts, others chose to wear the mini skirts which came back into style during the 87- 88 school year. Also popular with the girls were the knit sweater-skirt sets. Jeans, as always, were in style; the old favorite appeared in faded and stonewashed as well as the ever popular blue, denim. Shoes varied from tennis shoes to high heels. The colors that the girls liked were not all pastels, as they had been the year before. Although pastels were still pop- ular, brighter and bolder colors were also favorites. Girls with long hair used banana clips to put their hair up in a mane, which was a popular hair-style of the 1987-88 school year. Although the styles varied, the ladies of Barnesville High School continued to be in fashion and on the go.
