Our class party was held in March and was enyoyed by all. VC'e are all looking forward to the time when we join the Senior Parade and to the day when we will be known as the Star Performers of B. H. Nothing more is heard of the Shamrock until Thursday morning when the sales-managers pick up a stack of papers and bring them to school, where they go on sale in the lower hall. Thus ends one edition of the Shamrock, but another starts on its journey the next day. The staff presented two assemblies to the student body during the past school year. Both of these programs proved to he great successes. The Shamrock and Senrah Staffs held a joint picnic in May. I4 L ,' ff STATE CDI-IIC THEATRE E Q E J NYTU' NOVEMBER School Night st arted November off with a bang' Following the classes the senior public speaking class presented a short play en titled Elmer which greatly amused all the visit ing parents The first paid assembly was given by Donald Scott Morrison whose delightful melo dies intrigued his audience A chrysanthemum motif highlighted the Y Teen Initiation Tea which was again held at the Presbyterian Church Rain and mud failed to prevent the Armistice Day circus parade but the elements somewhat cur Although St C came out on top the final foot ball game was one of the seasons thrillers The Senrab sales campaign was one of the best ever carried on with each member of the staff scurry ing around eager to sell a yearbook In another interesting assembly Miss Minnie Deubretghe told us about life in India Late in the month the Rotary Club honored the football team at a swell banquet The good neighbors in Mrs Shep herds second year Spanish class formed a Spanish Club and elected o Ann Murphy president No one was sorry when Thanksgiving vacation rolled around marking the end of our third month on the road A BRIEF REVIEW DECEMBER The first snow of the year re minded us that before long Santa Claus really would be coming to town Another uper ban quet honoring the football players and coaches was held at Welcome Inn This time the hosts were the Eagles Walter Burns of Carnegie Tech was the guest speaker Even though the ground was white there was spring in the hearts of the seniors who did a grand job in their second class play The study hall was gay with its trimmings of holly and evergreen put up by the YTeen Christmas meeting which was presented jointly by Y Teen and Hi Y members No band mem ber will ever forget the band party which fea tured not only a visit from St Nick but band pins which were presented to the seniors and Csurprise of surprisesj to the juniors as well for the first time in history' The Shamrock Staff treated us with an assembly presented by George de Mott champion juggler Also in December the Hi Y sold unique pencils listing all the basket ball games The basketball season started rather slowly but soon got rolling when we beat Bethes da 61 to 45 The annual Christmas Assembly was held December 70 and then vacation was the by vsord for two whole weeks' Taken at the rough St F game Ari students dncuvv some Ideas Page 61 N i asf t X , 1 . . . 4 f i If ..
