Basketball ITH the defeat of Collegiate by a 37-16 score, one of the finer basketball seasons at Barnard was concluded. As for the records we won eight, lost V 3 gl three and tied one. Coach Ralph Bent and Captain Norman Mallett, handi- l capped by a nose injury, led the team exceptionally well through its season play. The other regulars were Ed Beckmann, who was high scorerg junior O'Keefe, a sub on last year's teamg Pete Bedford, playing his second year on the varsityg Bill Hamilton, who came to us from Riverdale and who was one of the Hashiest players seen in recent yearsg and Swede Walling who came to the varsity from the 'IayVees. In reviewing the games one fact is noticeable, the spirit with which the team fought, either in victory or defeat. The first game was lost to Staten Island by the close margin of one basket, After that we scored victories over Franklin and Fieldston, two of the teams in the private school league. Next came the overtime period game with Woo'd- mere which ended in a tie, 15-15. The team then played Lincoln, the third team in the league, beating them 31-22. RNARDBRIC
