HISIOFY In September of 1954 the follovung students entered Barnard H1gh as freshmen Mlke Blandmg Pat Bunch Leo Dowlm Ronme Marshall Ellle McGlothl1n Howard Rathbun and Allce Wr1gnt Danny Edwards of Belomt enrolled later ln the montr The class offlcers were as follows Mlke Blandmg presldent Elhe McGlothl1n vlce presldent Ahce Wrlght secre tary treasurer Pat Bunch and Ronme Marshall were elected to the stu dent council A one-day 1lIl1tlHtl0l'1 ended w1th a watermelon feed at the scnool house and a skatmg party at the slab Mr Weaver was the class sponsor The sophomore year 1n 1955 found the class wlth two new members Lee Holton of Slmpson and Dale Parson of Lmcoln The class w1th the as slstance of their sponsor Mr Coatney conducted a successful magazine sale for the purpose of maklng money C'ass offlcers for the year were Ahce Wright pres1dent Dale Parson v1ce presldent Leo Dowlm secre tary treasurer Allce Wrlght and Leo Dowhn were elected to the student council The Jumor year m 1956 found the Llass wxth the same students The class ofhcers were elected as follows Leo Dowlm presldent Ronme Mar shall v1ce presldent A11ce Wrlght sec etary treasurer Pat Bunch and Howard Rathbun were elected to the student councll In November the Mrs Masetellar class sponsor Lee Holton left at m1d semester to go to school ln Denver Later ln the year the group was host to the annual 1u1 lor semor prom wlth a Troplcana theme In September of 1958 the class entered t me halls of Barnard Hlgh for the last tlme with only elght pupxls ln the class for Howard Rathbun had transferred to Colorado Springs Class offlcers elected for the year were as follows M1ke Blandmg president Leo Dowlm v1ce-,presldent Allce Wrlght secretary treasurer Ahce Wrlght and Ronme Marshall were ele t ed to the student councll Leo Dowlm was c losen by the student body as presldent of the councll Th1S year the class was prluleged to Q onduct 1n1t1at1on After puttmg the freshmen through a serles of nonsense all day the entlre student body was treated to a watermelon feed hono mg the new students Durmg the year the :class edited and publlshed the school paper the BRHS CP RDINAL Wltfl Alxce Wrlght as edltor Late ln November the class play Room 13 was presented under the dlrectlon of Mrs Lewlck class sponsor Work then began on the 1958 CARDINAL the school year book wlth Ronme Marshall as edltor and Mlke Blandmg as 3SSOCl3t6 edltor In May the class traveled to the Ozarks 1n lVI1SSOUI'l for the sen1or trlp Mrs Lewlck and Mr H3m1ltOH sponsored the group K a a , Y' A .
