The value will derive from the awakening of memories of these days when the world, in spite of everything, was young for us and everything was possible, or almost everything. The curiosity will come from the passage of time, too, v hich will surround these events and the people we know so well today with shadows of distance and strangeness. Not only the people and events will seem different but our own motivations and aspirations will seem in remembrance miniscule before the richness and wealth of experience which maturity will bring, I hope, to all of you. Then you will perceive more clearly what these college years meant as preparation, no matter how indeter- minate, toward the future. Most Important, you will realize how many people and things in these years had a part in this preparation For all of you the College wishes that its contribution will always prove to have been a source of strength and enlightenment throughout your lives .
