Mrs. Helen Law, Registrar, has the hard job of co- ordinating the academic activities of more than 1,400 students — a job performed admirably. Into each life some rain must fall! As Bursar, it is Miss Frances Barry ' s duty to collect tuition and other fees each semester. On the brighter side, student and faculty pay checks are distributed by her.

Miss Jean Palmer, General Secre- tary and Director of Development, is one of the busiest women in a college of harried people. However, she is never too busy to smile. Dr. Henry Boorse, Dean of Faculty and Professor of Physics, is an unfailingly sympathetic person. He is always willing to listen to students ' comments on the College in general, or physics in par- ticular. 20

The Public Relations Office, directed by Miss Betty Pezzoni, is the official link between Barnard and the outside world. Any item relevant to the history, development, and activities of the College, its faculty and students, can be found in the excellent Public Relations files. Dr. Marjory J. Nelson, Col- lege Physician, assisted by an able staff, is responsible for the health of the student body. 22
