Top: Exec Board: Holly Bradford ' 53. President Bottom: Three minutes to Curtain! f Act I Scene iv Wigs and Cues Wigs and Cues shares in the Problems and Joys of Professional Drama with as much Intensity as Mr. Olivier or Miss Web- ster — Barnard ' s own stock company strug- gles to determine the conflict between Good Theatre and What the Public Wants — Wigs and Cues must show the need of the col- lege for a Separate Dramatic Entity — Over- whelming Vote by members to strive for Semi-Pro status in the Dramatic World — minimum of Material, maximum of Devo- tion and Elbow Grease, sufficient Talent to make the mixture Highly Inflammable — sparked off by Leader of the Chorus Holly Bradford — the group turns out Smash Hit Hippolytus which attracts the Intelligentsia and also comes out in the Black! — But Wigs and Cues is too Solid an Institution to have been Daunted by Threats of Dissolution — If you ' ve ever melted that smelly Glue over a Bunsen burner — or swabbed Paint on washed-down canvas — or turned Mother ' s old Drapes into a seventeenth-century Vogue outfit — or attempted to Speak Ra- tionally to a member within two weeks of Production — or failed to Escape the Clutches of a frenzied Ticket-Seller — you ' ll know what we mean about Wigs and Cues — it ' s as solid as Barnard Itself. The play ' s the thing . . . No time for stage-fright
